The 2nd Transact Triathlon Congress will take place on Friday 20 April 2012 in Port Elizabeth, prior to the SA Ironman event on Sunday 22 April 2012. The conference is a combined SASMA and SAMSIG initiative. Triathlon-related topics will be discussed. SAMSIG will present radiology case reports relevant to triathlon. Contact dr. A most successful meeting was held at the Sandton Convention Centre. A wide variety of topics were discussed ranging from interventional MSK , SLAP lesions, traumatic shoulder pathology, novel steps in imaging compartment syndrome, FAI, paediatric sports injuries, peroneal nerve injuries and bilateral stress fractures. Very good case presentations followed. The meeting ended with a preview of the 2012 SAMSIG meeting, which will be held at Kapama from 25-29 July 2012.

Drinks/cocktails/snacks Friday evening: Venue Dr Zietkiewicz home 7 Berkeley Crescent Durban North
Saturday case presentation: Entabeni hospital board room 8am-3pm with tea/lunch catered.
Trinations rugby match: Delegates invited to attend South Africa/Australia Trinations match at Kingspark at 5pm. Block booking of tickets will be purchased once numbers have been confirmed with view to possible vendor sponsoring cost. Transport will be arranged.
After match braai: For all match attending delegates on the infamous Kingspark outer fields/catering will be arranged.
Sunday free.

Combined SASMA/ SAMSIG Triathlon Medical Conference (TMC), to be held at the SA Ironman Race

Date: Friday 8 April, Port Elizabeth

Time: 8am – 5pm (Registration 7:30am)

The imaging workshop will discuss imaging of triathlon specific injuries – swimming/cycling/ running. The meeting will be held on the Friday prior to the race (Sunday) . Those keen on doing some exercise when there – either the corporate race ( short tri ) on the Saturday or the full Ironman on the Sunday. There will also be a short entry level Ironkids triathlon.
